(a) Explain why damage to the hippocampus impairs new long-term memory formation without necessarily erasing every older memory. (b) Contrast the likely symptoms of damage to the occipital lobe and damage to the cerebellum. (c) Explain why the amygdala and frontal lobe can both matter in emotional behavior even though they do different jobs. (d) A student says brain localization means each behavior belongs to exactly one tiny spot. Evaluate that claim.
