What examiners penalize here
- For article questions, ask: is the noun a **whole countable item** (un/une/des), an **unspecified amount of a mass** (du/de la/de l’), or a **general category / specific known thing** (le/la/les)? Naming the situation points straight to the article.
- When a text describes a habit or general truth about "how people live," expect the **present tense** carried by **frequency adverbs**. Reading those adverbs (souvent, d’habitude, rarement) tells you how typical the behavior is — often the point of the passage.
