What examiners penalize here
- On reading passages, ci and ne let authors avoid repetition — so to understand a pronoun, look **back** to the noun it stands for. Ask "a what?" for **ci** and "di what?" for **ne**, and reread the sentence with the noun restored.
- When a passage predicts the future, the **futuro semplice** carries the claims and any **se + futuro** clause states the condition. Separating the prediction from its condition helps you answer "what does the author expect to happen, and under what circumstances?"
