What examiners penalize here

• On persuasive texts, locate the **necessity triggers** (bisogna che, è urgente che, è ora che) to find the author’s proposed action. These subjunctive clauses usually contain the thesis — what the writer wants the reader to do.
• Tell the two se-patterns apart: **se + futuro → futuro** describes a *likely* outcome, while **se + congiuntivo imperfetto → condizionale** describes a *hypothetical* one. Naming which pattern a text uses shows whether the author sees the scenario as probable or imagined.
