What examiners penalize here

• On the interpretive-reading section, gender and case endings are your grammar clues for *who does what*. Before translating, scan for the articles: a nominative subject (**der/die/das**) tells you the actor, which anchors your understanding of the whole sentence.
• When the presentational-writing or speaking task asks you to start a sentence with a time or place phrase for variety, remember to **invert**: put the verb second and the subject after it. Graders reward correct V2 inversion as a marker of accurate, natural German.
